‘Regulated Entertainment’ means an entertainment falling within one of the following categories, whether taking place within premises or in the open air :-

  • a performance of a play an exhibition of a film an indoor sporting event

  • a boxing or wrestling event

  • a performance of live music

  • any playing of recorded music

  • a performance of dance

(or entertainment of a similar description falling within the last three of the categories listed above),where the entertainment takes place in the presence of and for the purposes of entertaining that audience or spectators.

Applying for a licence

For any of the above you will need to apply for a Premises Licence. (pdf, 714 KB)  However if you are a Private Members Club you will need to instead apply for a Club Premises Certificate (pdf, 483 KB)

Fees & Charges for the above are dependant on the rateable value of the premises. Follow this link to 2007/08 charges

Please submit a copy of the application to EACH of the Responsible Authorities below (this should total 7 copies).
