Landscapes of Consumption: All Cannings Cross and the Vale of Pewsey at the end of the Bronze Age.

This is the first initial season of fieldwork at a prehistoric site located just outside of Devizes in Wiltshire. The project is jointly directed by Professor John Barrett of the Department of Archaeology, University of Sheffield and David McOmish of English Heritage. The fieldwork will take place from 8th to 20th September and visitors will be welcome to the site near Cannings Cross Farm from 16th-18th (see map for additional information about visiting).

This web excavation diary project is a collaboration between Kennet District Council and Wiltshire County Council's "Windows on Wiltshire's Heritage Project" (funded by the New Opportunities Fund). The excavation reports are written by Helen Shalders (HS) of Wilts County Council and Melanie Pomeroy-Kellinger of KDC.
