Nitrogen Dioxide levels in Kennet area (parts per billion)Traffic exhaust fumes and to some extent, power stations are the main sources of nitrogen dioxide in the environment. Major road networks and urban areas have the highest levels of Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), but it is present in the air over most of England and Wales. Nitrogen Dioxide objectives have been set by the Air Quality Strategy for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The government target states that the annual mean of NO2 in the air must not be greater than 21 ppb (parts per billion) or 40µg/m3. (microgrammes per cubic meter). Please follow here to see all the air.quality.results
