FOOD HYGIENE TRAINING AT KENNET DISTRICT COUNCIL


Kennet District Council offers the following food hygiene training which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Level 2 Award in Food Safety - Catering
Level 2 Award in Food Safety - Manufacturing
Level 2 Award in Food Safety - Retail

LEVEL 2 AWARDS IN FOOD SAFETY

(Catering, Manufacturing & Retail)

Designed for anyone working in a catering, manufacturing or retail setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled.


These qualifications replaced the Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene (Level 1 Basic) and are required to address National Occupational Standards reflecting sector-specific needs.  In line with this demand, the CIEH Level 2 Awards in Food Safety have been designed to address the food safety needs of the catering, manufacturing and retails sectors

The following topics are covered::

  • Bacteriology

  • Food Poisoning

  • Hygienic Preparation of Food

  • Personal Hygiene

  • Temperature Control

  • Food Preservation and Storage

  • Cleaning & Disinfection

  • Design of Food Premises

  • Pest Control

  • Food Law

  • Hazard Analysis/Documented Food Safety Systems

At the end of this course there will be a multiple-choice examination and a certificate will be provided for successful candidates. For candidates who have reading or writing difficulties, the examination can be conducted orally.

Course fee: Including CIEH registration, buffet lunch with vegetarian option, refreshments and a food hygiene handbook)
Duration of Course:            1 day (09:15 for a 09:30 start, finish 17:00)
Assessment:                        Multiple choice examination
Course Fee:                          £70.88 (inc. VAT) per person
                                               £567.04 (inc. VAT) group booking held at your venue
                                               (Minimum 8 people, Maximum 15 subject to room available)

N.B Cancellation charges:

More than 14 days notice - 50% of the course fee
Less than 14 days notice - 100% of the course fee

    All courses are held at Kennet District Council, Devizes.  There are limited parking spaces available.
