In 1995 Kennet District Council transferred all Council housing to Sarsen Housing Association. Sarsen, along with 17 other Housing Associations with property in the Kennet area, is a member of homes@kennet.
The homes@kennet service provides affordable housing opportunities to those wishing to live in the Kennet area, and who have housing needs they cannot afford to meet. The service will offer those looking for housing the ability to choose the properties they are interested in by ‘bidding’ for properties advertised each week in the local Gazette & Herald newspaper and on the website www.homesatkennet.co.uk (External link). Adverts will also contain details of other affordable housing opportunities like shared ownership homes and private lets available with rent deposit guarantees. The service also provides a safety net for those who are homeless or have other urgent housing needs with the use of a priority card and will also offer housing opportunities to existing tenants and others. For an application form to join the Kennet Housing Register please call homes@kennet on 01380 734734 or e-mail: housing@kennet.gov.uk
