Site Inspections

Notice of inspection is required by the Building Control Section at each of the following stages during construction:

  1. Commencement of work

  2. Inspection of excavation for foundations

  3. Inspection of foundations

  4. Inspection of site hardcore

  5. Inspection of concrete oversite

  6. Inspection of damp-proof course

  7. Inspection of drains

  8. Testing of drains

  9. Structural steelwork and timbers when in position

  10. Occupation of building

  11. Completion of building

Notification of the various stages of work can be given by telephone.Inspections will be made on the day of notification whenever possible, providing notification is received early in the day.

Officers may be called out at any time during working hours if urgent help is required.

Completion Certificates

The Council can now issue Completion Certificates for the benefit of upon successful completion of work to the Applicant or their Agents. Copies of these certificates are available from the Section for the benefit of property purchases etc., but a charge is payable.
