The Government is introducing a set of national planning application forms that will be able to be used in any local planning authority in the country. This has been given the name of the 1-app project. By October 1st 2007 these will be the only forms that an applicant will be able to use to submit a planning application. This will do away with the need to complete a different set of forms for each local authority.
To make a valid planning application, the 1-app forms will contain a section that will require that applicants supply the local information required by each local planning authority to register an application. This information should be displayed by the local planning authority on its web site and is known as the Local Validation Checklist.
Kennet has compiled a draft Local Validation Checklist for each of the different types of planning application that we deal with. This will not be finalised until the Government has produced details of the Regulations that will formally introduce the national planning application form. The draft list is set out below. Comments on the contents of this list (including any omissions) should be submitted online to the Council at dev.control@kennet.gov.uk. Any comments received will be taken into account before the list is finalised.
Until the introduction of the national planning application form, the existing applications forms for planning permission and householder applications, available on-line on the Council’s web site, already include checklists of the information that is required to validate an application. For all other applications, the checklist below should be used to ensure that applicaitons are properly completed before being submitted to the Council.
