Car parking is an important service provided by Kennet District Council. Car parking is often seen as a revenue raiser but this is not its sole function. In providing car parking the council is enabling people to access much needed services and facilities. The management of car parking can also act as a demand management tool through supply, charging and enforcement. Good management can enable a reduction in congestion as people will be able to find a space quickly there by encouraging a vibrant economy within market towns.
