TRAVEL PLANNING

Travel Planning has an increasingly important role to play in raising awareness and encouraging alternatives to solo car use. A good practice guide on development related travel plans has been produced by Wiltshire County Council and the four district councils. Kennet has adopted this good practice guide which provides information on when a travel plan will be required and provides information on what a travel plan is and how developers can write and use one in relation to their development. Kennet is also preparing its own staff travel plan to provide staff with information and facilities on how they can travel to work and when they travel for business. This will be posted on the web when it has been approved by the Sustainable Development Working Group who are leading on the development of this plan.
