Hazardous waste includes anything that could be harmful to human health or to the environment.
Typical examples of hazardous household waste include:
Paint itself is not a hazardous household waste but should be handed to the site operator or put into the non-burnable waste skip.

There are two main ways to get rid of hazardous waste; Public recycling and waste disposal sites. Both will accept the above items - provided they are from households.
When disposing of any of these items at a site, remember to:
The Council has a list of private waste disposal companies' which collect hazardous waste for a charge. Residents should conact the Council stating the disposal waste and the Council will provided their details. You can contact the company direct or, for a small administration charge, the Council can make the arrangements for you.
