SOLICITORS CHARGES

In addition to charges for the building control service it has recently become necessary to introduce charges for enquiries relating to building control matters, due to the increasing amount of time spent answering these enquiries.

Street Naming and Numbering Charges

The Building Control Section has a legal obligation to name and number Roads/properties in accordance with the Public Health Act of 1925. It does however administer a service to re-name and re-number property for which it currently does not charge a fee. There is no legal obligation under the controlling legislation to do this and in the current financial environment it has been decided to recover the Administrative costs by levying a charge for the renaming of property in order to not burden the Council tax payer for this service which is serving the needs of individuals.
