Licensing of Dog Breeders

Legislation

A person keeping a breeding establishment for dogs is required to hold a licence issued by the Local Authority.  A breeding establishment for dogs is defined as "..any premises which carries on a business of breeding dogs for sale" Relevant Acts : Breeding of Dogs Act 1973, Breeding of Dogs Act 1991 (External link), Breeding and Sale of Dogs (Welfare) Act 1999 (External link)

Premises are then subject to inspection annually upon the renewal of the licence.
