Kennet District Council has been working with the other districts and county council and community first to establish "Wiltshire Community Web" which is a web site created for the community by the community.
Please follow this link to the Wiltshire Community website, (External link) which is very much in its infancy.
Community Plans are a way of stating what the social, economic and environmental aspirations of a community are, and what the agencies within the area will do to achieve these.
Through extensive consultation with organisations, businesses and individuals who wish to express a view on what they would like and what can be realistically achieved.
We are divided into four ‘community areas’ and each area has carried out a consultation through their Community Planning Partnership. The four community areas are Devizes, Marlborough, Pewsey & Tidworth.
The Kennet Local Strategic Partnership adopted a strategy in September 2005. This is now published and available here:- Kennet Community Strategy leaflet 2006 (pdf, 187 KB) and Kennet Community strategy booklet 2006 (pdf, 418 KB)
Local authorities and other key agencies such as health and the police as well as representatives from all key sectors of the community such as the voluntary sector and local businesses.
Through participating in the consultations or through their local councillors, development trusts or through contacting the LSPs direct.
By bringing all the agencies together at one table we can ensure that our work is better co-ordinated and that we all work together.
By all the organisations in the area committing themselves to the actions, using the Local Strategic Partnership to monitor and review what is happening.
