Programme of Meetings
"Meetings of the Council and its Committees are held on a basic 8-week cycle, but due to national holidays etc. there are usually only five cycles of meetings in a municipal year.
Most of the meetings of the Council and of its Committees and Sub-Committees etc. take place at Browfort during the working day i.e. with starts at 10.00am or 2.15pm. All of the above meetings are planned to start at 2.15pm however.
Sometimes meetings are held on site, particularly in relation to the consideration of important planning applications.
Most meetings of the Council and of its Committees and Sub-Committees, including the meetings referred to above, are open to the public although there is a right for each body to resolve to exclude the public (including the Press) for specific items of confidential (or exempt) business.
Dates of meetings due change from time to time (and meetings are cancelled due to lack of business) so the reader may wish to check that any particular meeting is still being held by contacting Democratic Services. Extra meetings are also arranged for urgent or special business."
