What information do I have to provide?

You must tell us about anybody who is part of your household for example, partners, children and non-dependants. We will also need some details of other people who share your accommodation for example, co-owners, joint tenants, boarders or lodgers.

What details are you required to give?

  • Full name

  • Date of birth

  • National Insurance number

  • Income (including benefits, pensions & wages)

  • Savings and investments

  • Rent

  • Bank details

  • Details of your landlord (where appropriate).

You will be asked to provide documents to prove the information you have given. All documents provided must be originals – copies won't do!


If you wish to check exactly which documents you need please contact the Benefits department

  • If you do not have payslips then you can ask your employer to complete a Certificate of Earnings Form which you can download

  • If you have just started work and don't have any payslips then please ask your employer to complete a Certificate of Estimated Earnings form, (download here) however you must also supply us with your payslips when you receive them.

  • If you don't have up to date proof of your rent then you can ask your landlord to complete a Proof of Rent form, (download here) which if you want us to pay your benefit to your landlord should also be completed on the reverse.

  • For self employed earnings we can accept your last years full trading accounts, if you do not have these, or you have just started in business you can complete the Self Employed Earnings form which you can download.
