What happens next?

Once you have submitted your claim and evidence it will be dealt with by one of our assessors, we are currently processing new claims in under 18 days and changes in circumstances are processed in under 12 days.  This can be delayed if you have not provided all the information we need to be able to calculate your claim, if this is the case we will write to you asking for the details we need.

Once we receive all the information that we need your claim will be calculated, we currently process nearly 90% of our claims within 14 days of all the information being provided.

When your claim is processed you will receive notification letters telling you how much you are entitled to, what date this is from and also setting out how we have calculated your entitlement. The letter will also normally tell you when you can expect payment to be made. You should check these notficiation letters carefully and contact us if anything is wrong or there is anything you do not understand.

If your benefit is to be paid to your landlord then a letter will also be sent to them containing details of how much you are entitled to and from when.  We do not tell your landlord how this has been calculated.
