How much Local Housing Allowance can I get?
To work out how much Local Housing Allowance you can get please use the following link - www.lha-direct.org
This will take you to The Rent services website where you will find a bedroom calculator and postcode search.
Firstly use the bedroom calculator to work out the size of property which you are eligible for Local Housing Allowance then use the Post code search.
Using the drop down menus enter the current month and year we are in (see note below), the size of property applicable for you and then enter the postcode for the property you are going to be claiming for. This will then show the current LHA rate for that property.
Please note that LHA rates are updated each month so if you do not actually claim until the next month the rate may change slightly. The LHA rate that we must use is the rate applicable on the date of claim. If you claim in advance then the rate used will be the one for the month your claim will commence.
