The Government is replacing the planning application forms previously issued by each local authority with a National Standard Planning Application form that can be used in any authority in the country. This project is called 1APP

.

From April 6th 2008, it will be mandatory for every planning application submitted to a council to be made using the National Standard Forms. To support this change, Kennet has now withdrawn from use all of its own paper application forms and from now on will only be sending out the 1APP forms. However, to ease the transition, planning applications submitted on the old-style Kennet forms will continue to be accepted until April 5th 2008.

The forms are grouped together with the relevant guidance notes to help you complete them. The Council encourages submission of planning applications on-line via the national planning portal, but will accept completed paper forms.

As part of 1APP, the government has defined national requirements for the information required to be submitted in support of a planning application. These national requirements are to be supplemented by mandatory local requirements that will be decided on by individual local planning authorities. The intention is to have one set of requirements for all of Wiltshire. These requirements are currently out to consultation and when finalised, will be incorporated into the guidance notes and checklist accompanying these applications.

The Council encourages the submission of planning applications on-line. The easiest way to do this is by using the Planning Portal, which provides on-line application forms for every 1-app application. There is no additional cost for using this service and forms, plans and the required application fee can all be submitted electronically. This saves you postage and printing costs. The portal also provides flexibility, allowing customers to ‘save’ work and return to complete it at a later date, and also allowing you to submit the application forms electronically, whilst still submitting the fee by cheque and/or the plans in paper copy if you prefer. You can connect to the Planning Portal site using this link (External link).

Details of the fees required for the submission of planning applications can be found here follow here for link (pdf, 621 KB) (pdf, 86 KB)

Unfortunately Kennet District Council is no longer licensed to provide ordnance survey extracts for submission with planning applications.  For a list of possible suppliers please follow here for link. (pdf, 18 KB) (pdf, 18 KB)

If you prefer, paper copies of the application forms can be picked up from the Council Offices at Browfort, Bath Road, Devizes SN10 2AT during normal opening hours (8:30am – 5:30 pm Monday-Thursday; 8:30am – 4:30pm Friday). They can also be posted to you if you contact the Council on 01380 724911.
