Please follow this link to fill an on-line form concerning Street Furniture, or if you have any other queries.

Street Furniture ranges from practical installations such as bins and seats through to environmental enhancements such as decorative street lighting and planted troughs.

These items can be found throughout the district, in streets, on pavements, in town centres and parks. The range of assests and locations also means a number of different boddies could be responsible for the items maintenance.

The upkeep and maintenance of the public highway is the responsibilty of Wiltshire County Council. However, in street furniture terms, generally only the street lighting is the responsibility of the County Council. In the town and village centre areas, seats planters and so forth are usually the responsibility of the town or parish council. Kennet District Council maintain the majority of the litter bins and footway lighting.

There are thousands of pieces of street furniture within the district and there are, of course, exceptions to every rule. This advice is intended as a guide only. If you do spot a problem with a piece of street furniture (or other Council asset), please report it to the Council either by telelphone 01380 724911, email kennetcontactcentre@kennet.gov.uk or follow the link at the top of the page. As much information as you can give about the location and discription of the item would be very helpful. Where damage is causing the item to dangerous, we aim to 'make safe' the asset as soon as practical. A full repair or replacement will be then undertaken at the Council's earliest opportunity
