On 26th May 2005 the Planning Policies Executive Committee considered and then approved for the purposes of development control the Quakers Walk Planning Brief. Several amendments were made to the draft planning brief (published in April 2005) in response to comments submitted during consultation before Members considered the final draft at committee. A record of all the consultation in relation to the Quakers Walk Planning Brief can be found in the accompanying Statement of Consultation.

The Quakers Walk Statement of Consultation records the consultation that took place when preparing the Quakers Walk Planning Brief. Stage one, the issues and options consultation, was carried out by Consensus on behalf of Carter Jonas (agents for the Society of Merchant Venturers who own the Quakers Walk site). Stage two, the preferred option consultation, was organised and reported on by Carter Jonas.

Community Benefits from Planning' provides supplementary information on how the council is seeking to deliver several policies in the Kennet Local Plan 2011 in relation to social and community infrastructure. The topics covered are education, recreation, community buildings and public art. The guidance provides relevant detail to help with the implementation of current policy and does not seek to change or re-interpret the policy framework.

The report documents each of the stages of consultation leading to the production of the Community Benefits from Planning SPG. The stages of consultation include evidence gathering, early community involvement and a preferred options consultation in line with the Council's emerging Statement of Community Involvement.
Contributing to Sport & Recreation - A review of Standards of Provision in Kennet (pdf, 958 KB)
During 2003/2004 consultants were appointed by Kennet to review the existing sport and recreation facilities in Kennet and recommend standards of provision for the future. The report looks at all aspects of provision in Kennet from athletics tracks to children's play areas. It also includes a full report on early consultations to gain an understanding of current views and aspirations for sport and recreation in the District.
